Cecil's People: Freedom Fighters

Cecil's People: Freedom Fighters are Bernyce Mills-Devaughn, Richard Watson, Karen Jordan, and Kenneth Salaam.

As young people, the four protested under the leadership of Cecil B. Moore calling to desegregate Girard College in 1965. They are the subject of an Emmy award-winning documentary.

Cecil's People will visit several Upper School classes, as well as fifth grade, to tell and share their stories of traveling the country in the fight for civil rights, sing freedom songs, answer questions and show students their Emmy. Watch the film
